Level 1 Thai Massage Foundations course

This certified 30-hour Thai massage course teaches you acupressure and stretches in the supine position.

The Level 1: Thai Massage Foundations course occurs three times a year, during the first weeks of February, May and November.

The primary focus of this course will be to teach you Thai massage acupressure and stretches in the Supine position. You will learn acupressure, stretches and proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet. The course will also teach you efficient transitions between each of these techniques. The supine massage sequence begins with the feet and ends with the head.

Refund Policy

You must pay for the course in advance to secure your place. You may receive a full refund less a $50 administration fee up to three weeks before the start date, 75% up to two weeks in advance, and 50% up to one week before the start date. There is no refund after the class has started.

Traditional Thai Massage

Folk Thai massage is the most common style of Thai Traditional Massage in Thailand, originating and applied within family households and in the public arena.

Our courses emphasize hands-on training and practical experience. In addition to working with the instructor and other students, you can practice your new skills on Sirius Health client volunteers on the fourth training day.

This course will begin daily with Thai Yoga (Reusi Dat Ton) and Qigong. Course content will progress along four streams of study: Professional, Theoretical, Practical and Ethical. Course content will include an introduction to Thai massage and an overview of Traditional Thai Medicine. We will review contraindications and cautionary sites and learn the Thai Healing Alliance International practitioner code of ethics.

Students are required to complete any homework assigned.
Students must achieve a mark of 70% or above on skill assessments. If you receive a mark below 70%, you must do a re-assessment. Cost: $25.
Students are required to attend 90% of the class. Students absent from lessons must make up the missed ones from 16:00 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday. The cost of the makeup lesson is $40 per 1-hour session. In the case of illness, Sirius Health will not charge for makeup lessons. A doctor’s certificate is required
