Grant is the author of a modern curriculum of Northern-style ancient Thai massage. He incorporates movements and breathing techniques from Qigong and Reusi Dat Ton, creating a unique healing art.

Visual-Auditory-Kinaesthetic (VAK) Instruction

Our courses intentionally accommodate visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.

Visual-Auditory-Kinaesthetic (VAK) Instruction

The VAK learning model divides people into three categories of learners: visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. People often incorporate elements of the other two styles but will benefit most from learning by focusing on their primary style.

Our courses incorporate activities that facilitate all three learning styles to help our students learn more effectively and with greater enjoyment.

Visual Learners

Visual learners absorb information primarily by seeing it or by visualizing it mentally

Workbooks contain all course content
Step-by-step instructions with colour pictures
Encourage frequent note-taking
Modern classroom without distracting stimuli

Auditory Learners

Auditory learners absorb information primarily by the spoken word or by sounds and noises

Verbal demonstration of each technique
Regular group discussions of theory and lessons
The classroom has soft music in the background
Complete lessons available online for review

Kinaesthetic Learners

Kinaesthetic learners absorb information primarily through movement in a physical way

Emphasis is on practicing skills
Students mimic the teacher’s demonstrations
Students both receive and give massages
Each day begins with active mobility training

Mobility Training

We include mobility training to help students perform Thai Massage safely and effectively.

We include mobility training to help students perform Thai Massage safely and effectively.

Thai massage is demanding and requires mobility and strength. We begin daily with mobility training combining Thai Yoga (Reusi Dat Ton), Qigong and callisthenic exercises.

Mobility training includes a range of exercises designed to increase your range of motion, control muscles surrounding each joint, and help you move more actively. These exercises include flexibility but also pliability and strength.

Many Thai massage techniques involve deep stretches and low squats, so mobility training is a must. Incorporating mobility and flexibility is vital to gain peak fitness and functioning.

Mobility training helps prevent muscles from becoming tight, immobile, and suffering from an overall lack of movement. This training will help students perform Thai Massage healthily and effectively.
